Object To move all the cards to the foundations. Layout and play Foundations (4 piles) Build in ascending sequence and in suit (for example, a 2 on an A ) from Ace to King. Tableau (9 columns of increasing height) Build in descending sequence and in alternating colors (for example, a 4 on a 5 ). Ranks are not continuous: a King can't be played on an Ace. The top card of each column can be played on the foundations or on another tableau column. Only one card at a time can be played. Spaces can be filled with cards from other tableau columns or from the reserve. Reserve (7 piles of 1 card each, called "Belgian Reserve") The single card of each pile can be played on the foundations or on the tableau. Spaces can't be filled.
